There is always grace to start again. Holding on tightly to an idea or dream can serve us for a season; then there comes a time to open those white knuckles and let that our dream flourish. It’s about time I open my white knuckles of control for the idea of writing, posting, and sharing in a community with other passionate educators.
I’ve had a prompting, for quite some time, to start a weekly/monthly get together for educators. It would be a time to come together and grow personally, professionally, or spiritually. I’ve held onto this idea, scared to jump into the world of opening myself up to a community. So, with grace and open hands to what will become, I will start walking in obedience to this idea of connection. What does that look like? I’m not sure. Where will this small group be? Again, I’m not sure. How will people know they are welcome to join? Still unknown. WHY? Living life in obedience and faith is the only way to lead.
Here’s what I do know. Working in the education field is hard work and pours from the heart. Every professional in education cares deeply for everyone in their path. We need to find a way to take care of ourselves as we take care of others. Looking over the past five years, I have seen seasons of planting, waiting, watering, nurturing, and harvesting. Every season had it’s time and each season has it’s lesson.
I’m ready to walk obediently into this new season of community; even when I am not certain of the harvest. A faith-based time for educators to come together, share ideas, stories, and friendship is now in my open palm to allow God’s will to be done. Let the planting season of becoming intentionally prepared begin.
